Information and
Communication Technology in Science (SSI3013) is the course which discusses the
rationale and advantages of ICT applications in Science education. As I am
taking the Science Education, it is helpful in encouraging me to learn more
about science in interactive ways. The topics that covered in this course are
simulation, modelling, spreadsheets, data logger, interactive whiteboard, and
other ICT applications. From those topics I learnt many new things which
related to the ICT. From this course, I have an assignment which asks me to do
e-portfolio in the form of a blog. This is the first time I do blogger things.
Actually, this course is very interesting as I learnt something new such as
simulation, data logger and interactive whiteboard.
As a teacher to
be, I do learn how to apply ICT in teaching and learning process. I also had an
assignment in the Smart School program which I get new knowledge from the
researched that I had done. My lecturer does
teach how to capture a scene or window simply by using Paint. I also get to
know how to use Movie Maker to make my own video. As this course does not have a
final exam, so it is quiet a lot of coursework and assignment that I have to do
but those works given give back the benefits to me. Before this, I never
thought about the computer simulation which actually it is very helpful in our educational
system.
As in university,
the way of learning is based on student centered learning, there many things
that I have to find out by myself with the guideline from the lecturer. In my
opinion, ICT should be applied in education especially in Science subject. In
Science subject there will be very helpful by ICT applications. I can see it
clearly when I am doing the assignment on Stella Software. From the assignment,
I realize that computer simulation may be very helpful to make better
understanding for students. When I am a teacher, I will integrate ICT in my
teaching to make my teaching and learning process more interactive. My lecturer,
Encik Azmi Ibrahim gave his best in a lecture to my friends and me. I would like
to thank him for the knowledge shared with us.
